Past these areas is a large blast door leading to the facility's lab area, modeled in a 1950s and 60s brutalist architectural style.
Just past the entrance is a long tunnel before reaching the facility itself, a maze of rail tunnels and small aircraft storage areas (with covered V-65 Molotoks and Pyros inside them).
The entrance is hidden behind a fake set of electrical boxes in a road tunnel inside of Mount Chiliad. The base had been sealed for decades until Avon Hertz opened it. According to Phoenicia Rackman, the facility was built during the Cold War in the 1960s, constructed in secret so that civilians didn't know a large nuclear arsenal was being held "just over the Vinewood Hills".
